Avi Dobuler
was born in Brooklyn and
raised in North Woodmere, Long Island.
Love of Israel always burned brightly in Avi's heart, but it was seeing the movie EXODUS at a young
age that convinced him that his destiny was linked
to that of the State of Israel.
While traveling through Israel is his passion, Avi
has varied other interests. He is well-read on a very wide
array of topics. He is an avid sportsman with professional status in swimming, martial arts, fitness, handgunnery and riflery.
Today Avi holds a black belt in the martial arts and in his spare time gives instruction in fitness and small arms. An active member of his community, Avi is a senior member of an elite sniper unit.
Avi made his first visit to Israel after his senior year in high school, following the Six-Day War. On this trip of a lifetime, he was fortunate to go to all the
newly-liberated holy sites that had been off limits to Jews, while under Jordanian control for 19 years.
When he returned to the U.S., he became a pro-Israel college activist, combating Arab propaganda, and bringing to the campus Zionist leaders like Menachem Begin, Moshe Dayan, Chaim Herzog, Abba Eban, Golda Meir, Yitzchak Rabin, Shimon Peres, Ezer Weizman, and others.
He became observant in 1976 - studying with Rebbetzin Esther Jungreis of Hineni, her late husband Rabbi Meshulum Jungreis, o'h, Rabbi Kastel of Lubavitch, Rabbi Avigdor Miller, Rabbi Avraham Blumenkrantz, Rabbi Shlomo Freifeld,o'h, Rabbi Josh Kurland, Rabbi Ephraim Kamin, Rabbi Moshe Weinberg and Rabbi Dov Bressler.
After earning an MBA, Avi worked in banking and real estate in America. Avi, his wife Fern, and their five children made Aliyah in 1990 in time for the Persian Gulf War.
A graduate of the Ministry of Tourism's Professional Tour Guide course, Avi has shared his enthusiasm and love of Israel with thousands of tourists over the past decade.
Today, Avi has earned a reputation as one of Israel's top tour guides. He has a very broad inventory of all kinds of tours and has become a specialist in every area - Biblical, Archaeological, Strategic, Historical, Nature, Hiking and Fun Touring.
Avi provides custom tours for Individuals, Families, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, Schools, Yeshivot, Senior Citizens and the Handicapped.
With his security background and comfortable van with protective windows, Avi is also a favorite guide of VIP journalists, entertainment people and politicians.
