| I know that when
traveling, the biggest "shocker" is the money of the new country. Many times you'll think it's even Monopoly money. Therefore I bring you this page hoping it should answer some of your questions and problems. The American Dollar is strong in Israel and its current rate runs between 4.70-5.00 Shekels to one American Dollar. Meaning 100$ at a 4.85 Shekel rate = 485 Shekels Whatever you have in $, multiply it by 4.85. The Dollar is the equivalent of the Shekel, like the Cent is to the Agura. The coins that we have here in Israel, do not have names like in America. We have a 10 agurot coin = 2 cents 50 agurot coin = 10 cents 1 shekel coin = 20 cents 10 shekel coin = 2 dollars and then we have the bills 20 shekel bill = 4 dollars 50 shekel bill = 10 dollars 100 shekel bill = 20 dollars 200 shekel bill = 40 dollars if you have any further questions please ask. |
